Father-son duo injured in bombing after being attacked by miscreants in Puri

At least two persons sustained multiple injuries after unidentified miscreants allegedly hurled a bomb after attacking them at Nali Padia area under Baliapanda police limits in Puri district on Tuesday. The injured have been identified as Sandip Sanyal and his son Mrutyunjay.

As per initial reports, some miscreants first attacked Mrutyunjay and later did not spare his father when he rushed to the spot for his rescue. Later, the miscreants hurled bombs at their house in which the father and son duo were injured.

Though the exact reason behind the attack is unclear, it is suspected that it could be the fallout of some past rivalry.

Following the incident, both Mrutyunjay and his father were rushed to Puri district headquarters hospital.

No comments could be obtained from senior police officials in connection with the incident.
