Ex-boyfriend killed female finance firm staffer to avenge break up: Police

Deogarh police on Monday cracked the sensational murder of a private finance company employee, Reeta Sahu who was bludgeoned to death on the night of April 5.

As per reports, the murder was a result of a failed love affair.

Police sources said Reeta’s ex-boyfriend Ashwini Sandu is the prime accused in the murder and he killed her to avenge his break up with her.

Ashwini is a resident of Pandaloi village under Sambalpur’s Rengali police limits, while Rita Sahu, was a resident of Kuchinda in Sambalpur district.

He along with an aide stabbed Reeta before stoning her to death on that fateful night in Deogarh town where she was working in a finance company. Reeta was attacked by the two miscreants while she was about to leave for home from her office at around 11 pm.

She was rushed to the district headquarters hospital by the staff of the company but was declared dead by the doctors there.

The police are conducting further investigation to ascertain the involvement of any other person in the gruesome murder.
