Elderly woman found dead inside house in Bhubaneswar

Police recovered an elderly woman’s dead body from her house in Khandagiri Bari area under Bharatpur Police Limits on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. 

The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained. 

According to a source, the deceased used to live with her younger son and her daughter-in-law in Khandagiri Bari area. After their neighbours heard the elderly woman’s frantic cries, they immediately informed the police. 

A team from Bharatpur Police Station reached the spot and found the elderly woman dead and her daughter-in-law in an unconscious state. The cops admitted the daughter-in-law to a local government hospital. 

Informing about the incident, Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh said, "On being informed, a team from Bharatpur police station reached the spot and found the woman dead. We have launched an investigation."
