Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate police today claimed to have busted a major fake TV manufacturing racket and arrested four people allegedly involved in the illegal activity at Pokhariput area in the city.

A special squad of the Commissionerate Police raided a place at Pokhariput area and seized as many as 150 TV/LED sets of a particular brand. 

Police are also investigating the case to unearth involvement of any others in the racket. The special squad is also trying to unearth whether the gang was running the racket only in Bhubaneswar or outside the city.

According to reports, the gang generally used logo of a branded company while assembling parts to manufacture TVs to cheat customers.

Police have also informed the concerned TV company authorities following which a team of technical experts reached the spot and examined the seized electronic items.

Earlier duplicate manufacturing units of various food items like ghee, edible oil, sauce have been busted in twin cities by the special squad of Commissionerate police.
