Double murder sends shockwaves in Ganjam’s Digapahandi

Palpable tension prevailed in Digapahandi area after two BJD leaders were allegedly murdered on Saturday. The deceased have been identified as Sudhir Patra and Sudarsan Suara of Palajhadi village.

The bodies of Sudhir and Sudarsan were recovered from a roadside near their village. As per initial reports, both Sudhir and Sudarsan had gone to attend a meeting which was organised between the winner and the defeated groups in the recently concluded panchayat elections at Chasanimakhandi village.

Both Sudhir and Sudarsan had left the venue after the meeting and were returning home when they were allegedly attacked. Their bodies were first spotted by a tractor driver at around 8 pm yesterday.

The duo was then rushed to Berhampur MKCG where doctors declared them dead. The exact reason behind the attack is still unclear. Meanwhile, police have started a probe into the incident
