Unidentified miscreants snatched a gold chain from a woman in broad daylight in Nayapalli area of Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

As per reports, a woman who was returning to home after dropping her ward at school on a bike was injured during the incident.

According to the victim, the bike-borne miscreants chased her for around 200 metres before launching an attack on her. The victim identified as Swapna Nish tried to save herself from the criminals but lost balance and injured herself after falling off her vehicle.

“When I was returning home after dropping my daughter, three bike borne miscreants came and snatched my chain. Locals tried to stop them but failed to act decisively as the criminals had came with arms," said the victim.

Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation into the matter after lodging of an FIR at Nayapalli police Station.

A few weeks ago, two bike-borne armed miscreants looted a jewellery shop by firing blank shots near Janla police out-post, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
