Dacoit gang involved in NH loot cases busted in Khordha

Khordha Police has nabbed a criminal gang involved in a series of loots on the National Highway. Senior officials said that three members of the criminal gang have been arrested in this connection.

Khordha SP, Siddharth Kataria said the dacoity gang was arrested from Tangi area. Mainly the gang was active in Nirakarpur, and Tangi areas and they used to snatch gold chains and other valuables from people mainly on the National Highway.

“We had found the same modus operandi in several cases in which the criminals used to come in motorcycles and loot valuables. While working on the case, we detected the gang and arrested three criminals. One person who used to purchase stolen goods has also been arrested,” said Kataria.

Several gold chains, and two motorcycles have been recovered from the arrested accused. Senior Police officials informed that CCTV cameras will be installed at vital locations under Khordha Town Police, Banpur and Balugaon areas and the drive against anti-socials will be intensified.
