The prime accused in the sensational mass murder at Kusupur under Mahanga police limits in Cuttack, Siba Sahu executed the barbaric act all alone, revealed the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Ashok Behera on Thursday.

Speaking to the reporters after conducting a crime scene recreation with the accused, Behera said, "Siba reached home at 8pm on that fateful night. Livid over a land dispute case, he took a sharp weapon and attacked his sister-in-law first before proceeding to attack his brother and three children. All five reportedly succumbed after the bloody attack.”

Mahanga police on Friday took Siba to his ancestral home in Kusupur village and his rented house in Nanpur village to recreate the crime scene and elicit more information on the brutal killings.

Reportedly, a mobile phone and the murder weapon used by Siba Sahu were seized during crime scene recreation.

Notably, Sahu had allegedly killed five members of his elder brother’s family; Alekh Sahu, his wife, their two sons and a daughter over a property dispute on Tuesday.

Later, he had surrendered at Balichandrapur police station in Jajpur district after recording a confession video which he sent to a couple of people in the village.
