Bharatpur PS Custodial Torture Case
The Bhubaneswar SDJM court on Wednesday granted permission to conduct polygraph test on the Inspector-in-charge (IIC) Dinakrushna Mishra of the Bharatpur Police Station who has been suspended over the alleged sexual assault on fiancée of an Indian Army Major on September 19.
The development came after the Crime Branch moved the court seeking permission for the polygraph test. As per initial reports, the Crime Branch will take the suspended IIC Dinakrushna Mishra to Gandhinagar in Gujarat for the polygraph test soon.
Sources said that Mishra has also given consent for lie detection, brain-mapping and narco-analysis test. Before Court, the suspended IIC said, “I am innocent. I am not involved in the commission of the offences as alleged against me. I do not have any objection to undergo narco analysis, polygraph and brain finger printing tests. I am giving my consent on my own accord and free will.”
The development and test assume significance in order to examine the veracity of the allegations and counter allegations in the alleged torture of the serving Army Officer and alleged sexual assault of his fiancée.
Today, the Crime Branch recreated the crime scene at Bharatpur police station and Chandaka road as well where the Army Officer and his fiancée were allegedly harassed by a group of road romeos.
