Mystery shrouds the death of a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan whose body was found hanging in a hotel room in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Mir Singh who hailed from Rajasthan.

As per initial reports, the body of the CRPF jawan was found hanging from the ceiling fan of the hotel room in Ashok Nagar area in the Capital city.

The exact reason behind the CRPF jawan’s death is unclear. Senior officials of Capital Police station have reached the hotel and started an investigation into the incident.

The hotel staff are being questioned in connection with the incident. A team of forensic experts has also reached the spot.

The deceased had come to Bhubaneswar on Republic Day. It is still unclear whether the jawan died by suicide or some other reason.

The manager of the hotel said, “The jawan had checked in at around 4:30 pm on January 26. Yesterday, I was asleep and later one staffer informed me about the incident.”

The door of the room was open and was not locked from inside.

“As it was check out time of the customer, our service staff noticed the jawan hanging. We learnt that the deceased was talking loudly with someone over the phone in the past few days,” the hotel manager said adding that they would cooperate in the probe.
