Couple’s mutilated bodies found on railway tracks in Bhubaneswar, suicide suspected

The mutilated bodies of a couple were recovered from the railway tracks near Bomikhal in Bhubaneswar on Monday morning. 

The deceased reportedly hailed from Cuttack district and used to stay at Santipalli slum in Bhubaneswar. 

Some local people spotted the bodies lying on the tracks this morning. On being informed, a team of GRP reached the spot, recovered the bodies for post-mortem and launched an investigation. 

Sources said the couple had a quarrel on Sunday night over some family issues. The police are trying to ascertain what led them to take the extreme step. 

While the local residents suspected financial problems to be the reason behind the extreme step, the police are tight-lipped about the incident.
