Couple found dead with throats slit in Balasore

A couple was found dead with their throats slit at their poultry farm at Majhi Sahi under Soro police limits in Balasore district late on Wednesday night.

The deceased have been identified as Raghunath Behera and his wife Prabhati Behera.

According to sources, the villagers found the bodies of the couple lying in a pool of blood with deep injuries on their necks. 

Though the exact reason behind their deaths is not known, it is believed that someone might have killed them by slitting their throats, sources informed.

“Hearing their cry, some villagers came to the poultry farm and found Raghunath and his wife lying on the ground and their throats were slit. I am not sure whether they have any past enmity with someone or not,” said a local resident.

“By the time we reached the spot, the couple had already died. This is very tragic,” said another resident of Majhi Sahi.

On being informed about the incident, Soro police rushed to the spot and started an investigation into the matter.
