Police on Monday reunited a mother with her baby boy within 12 hours of its kidnap from Balasore district headquarters hospital (DHH).

As per reports, a woman of Kulachada village in Baliapal area gave birth to a baby boy at Balasore DHH on Saturday night. As per the allegation of the woman, an unknown woman approached her on Sunday morning at about 9.30 am and took the baby from her telling her that she was taking the baby for vaccination. And, since then there were no whereabouts of the infant and the woman. The family members launched a frantic search but failed to trace the infant.

With no option left, they lodged a missing report. Taking the case seriously, Balasore police launched an investigation. The probe progressed on the basis of CCTV footage. Eventually, they rescued the infant from the house of Krishna Patra, a resident of Santia village under Jaleswar police limits.
