The Commissionerate Police has prepared a blueprint to arrest the absconding members of the ‘Pahadi Gang’. 

The Commissionerate Police on Wednesday arrested eight members of the above-mentioned gang that used to clean up money from various UPI and bank accounts of people after stealing mobile phones in Bhubaneswar.

According to the police, the gang used to operate in groups across the country in teams of 14 to 15 persons. They were also involved in multiple cases in Odisha as well. The gang’s mastermind and the cyber experts who were working for the gang are still at large.

Hence, police have devised plans to nab the absconding members of the gang. Immediately after getting intelligence e inputs, a team of the Commissionerate Police will go out of the state to nab the culprits. 

Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh said the persons, who have been arrested, will be taken into remand in a day or two. 

“The gang’s mastermind is still on the run. The arrested persons’ job was to steal mobile phones. The job of the gang’s cyber experts was to clean up money from the bank accounts of the mobile phone owners. We will nab the members of their cyber team. If required, we will take the arrested persons in remand to get more information. Whenever we get any intelligence inputs, we will go and nab them,” said Singh.
