Acting tough against criminals, the house of an accused now behind bars in a murder case has been razed to the ground by the Commissionerate Police at GD Slum in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

Informing about the police’s stand against criminals, ACP of Zone 1, Manas Gadanayak said, “Vishal Naik, who murdered Sushant Naik, had encroached upon a piece of government land and constructed a house. He was running an adda from there. That house has been pulled down.”

“I would like to send out a message that the criminals should refrain from all sorts of anti-social activities or else strong action would be taken against them,” said Gadanayak.

Notably, Sushant was hacked to death in the wee hours of May 24. 

Earlier, the police also razed the house of an accused who was arrested for his involvement in looting valuables including gold ornaments, a motorcycle, a TV and other articles worth Rs 12 lakh from the house of Pramod Panda, an Assistant Section Officer (ASO) in Unit 6 area.
