Caught on camera: Woman disguised as man loots valuables from scooter in Puri 

A woman in the guise of a man allegedly looted valuables from a scooter parked outside a lodging in Badadanda of Puri. 

The loot was reported from the parking of Nilachal Lodging located near Badadanda market chhak on Saturday morning. 

The entire act of the loot was caught in the CCTV camera installed at the parking. In the CCTV footage accessed by OTV, the looter was seen walking towards the scooter. 

After finding no one around, she sat on the scooter and clandestinely opened the dickey using a fake key before fleeing with the valuables. 

Kumbharpada police confirmed that the thief seen in the CCTV footage was actually a woman in the guise of a man. 

As per police sources, the scooter from which the valuables were looted was parked by two men and a woman who had been staying at the lodging for over a week. 

The woman of the group lodged the complaint with Kumbarpada police in this regard. Subsequently, a probe was launched.    

“An underage person was seen decamping with my wallet kept in the dickey of the scooter. My aadhaar card, PAN card, voter ID, driving licence, debit and credit cards, a diamond ring and other important items were in the wallet,” the complainant said.

“If such loots take place in the morning, how we would feel safe,” she questioned.
