A brick kiln owner was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Kharanasi villager under Jambu beach police limits in Kendrapara district on Monday.

According to sources, the deceased has been identified as Dinesh Baidya of Patapata village. He used to run a brick kiln at Kharanasi village. He had hosted a feast at the kiln for his fellow labourers for which he had not gone home on Sunday night. However, his body with scar marks was recovered on Monday morning.

Upon being informed, police reached the spot and seized the body.

Though police have started an investigation into the case, they are yet to ascertain the reason behind the death.

Meanwhile, his family members have filed a complaint with the police alleging murder and demanded a probe into the matter.

In a separate incident, Puri Marine police have disclosed the identity of a girl who has gone missing since Saturday.

Police had recovered the body of Radhika Kusuha from Baliguali beach. It was Radhika’s father Prahallad who identified the body of his daughter after seeing nose ring, earring and red ribbon worn by his daughter.

Meanwhile, Prahallad filed a complaint with Marine police alleging his daughter was abducted before being killed.

According to the police investigation, Radhika was last spotted on Chakra Tirtha Road on November 23 morning.

Prahallad said, “After finding her not present at the hotel, we searched for her here and there. When I came to know that body of a girl recovered from the beach, I had urged police not to conduct post-mortem before my arrival. I was taken aback to see that police conducted post mortem before I reached the spot.”

He went on to add, “We would approach the Deputy Superintendent of Police and seek CBI investigation into the matter”.

However, Marine police were found unavailable to make comment on the matter.
