Bolangir Tehsildar forges documents to grab land, FIR lodged

A case has been registered against the Tehsildar of Bolangir Sadar, Maghaban Bagh, for forging documents to sell a piece of land.

The police have registered a case against him under IPC Sections 420, 468, 471, 34.

As per reports, Bagh forged documents of the land belonging to a daily wager, who is dead, and sold it to another person. Sources said, Bagh made a cow herder the seller of the land and executed the registration and the mutation process by using his digital signature.

The Tehsildar is allegedly very close to the accused who has bought the land from the cow herder. A picture of both of them went viral in social media.

While the police have been requesting Bagh to submit documents relating to the sale from several days, the Tehsildar is allegedly delaying to deposit the same.

However, the Tehsildar denied the allegations, saying, “Though I know the accused and we have met in the past, I do not know anything about the picture going viral.”

“Once the registration process gets over, there is very little I can do as a Tehsildar,” Bagh said.

Asked about the case, the District Collector said there is an investigation currently being undertaken over the allegations. The case will be solved very soon.
