Body Of Odisha Retired Professor Found In Rice Field In Balasore, Wife Critical

The Simulia Police on Saturday recovered the body of a retired professor from a paddy field near Balikhanda market at Soro in Balasore district.

The body had several deep injury marks on it, raising suspicion that the retired professor might have been attacked with sharp weapons and thrown by the miscreants in the field following his death.

His (Deceased) wife was also rescued from her house located at Balikhanda market in a serious condition, who was also reportedly stabbed by the miscreants.

The injured wife was rushed to Bhadrak hospital where she is currently under treatment.

As per reports, the locals spotted the retired professor’s body lying in the field in the morning. Upon informing the Police, they reached the spot and sent the body for autopsy. Moreover, when the Police reached his house, they found his wife wriggling in pain due to multiple stabbings on her body.

The Police have launched a probe to ascertain the reason behind the attack and to nab the culprits.
