Bhubaneswar witnesses another ‘sword attack’, 2 youths injured; Khandagiri police starts probe

The capital city of Odisha, Bhubaneswar, witnessed yet another violent attack, leaving two youths critically injured.  The shocking incident took place in the Patrapada area under Khandagiri police limits, where unidentified miscreants attacked the victims in broad daylight on Wednesday.

Attack Linked to Previous Rivalry and Personal Disputes

According to preliminary reports, the attack was allegedly fuelled by some past enmity and a heated argument involving offensive comments. The accused, reportedly acting in a pre-planned and coordinated manner, brutally assaulted the two young men with sharp weapons, leaving them severely wounded.

Eyewitnesses stated that the victims were caught off guard when a group of assailants approached them suddenly and launched a violent attack. The incident has sparked fear among local residents, who are concerned about the increasing frequency of sharp weapon-related crimes in the city.

Victims Undergoing Treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar

Following the attack, the injured youths were immediately rushed to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for treatment. Their condition remains critical, as per hospital sources.

Meanwhile, the Khandagiri police have launched an intensive investigation, collecting evidence and questioning potential witnesses. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits responsible for the crime.
