In a bone-chilling incident, a techie from Bengaluru reportedly killed his two-year-old daughter and threw her body in a lake. The accused has been identified as Rahul Parmar from Gujarat.

Hailing from Gujarat, the 45-year-old had settled in Bengaluru with his wife Bhavya two years back.

The accused during police interrogation claimed he did not have money to feed the little girl, said police. After killing the little girl, he also allegedly tried to die by suicide, police added.

The matter came to the fore after the body of the two-year-old child was found in the lake of Kendatti village of Kolar taluk on Saturday night. Police have also recovered a blue car from the bank of the lake.

Villagers found the car in a suspicious manner and recovered the body from the lake. Under suspicion, they informed the Kolar rural police station.

After a thorough investigation, police picked up Parmar who confessed to killing his daughter.

During interrogation, Rahul revealed that he spent time with the little girl and hugged her in the car. He played with her before killing her as he did not have any money to feed her.

According to police, Parmar had gone missing with the little girl since November 15. The child’s mother Bhavya had filed a missing complaint with the police station.

Police revealed, Parmar was unemployed for the last 6 months and incurred a financial loss in his Bitcoin business.

Earlier, he had lodged a fake complaint with the Bengaluru police about the theft of gold jewellery from his house. However, later it was found that he himself had stolen the jewels and registered a fake theft case.

Police suspect Rahul might have committed the crime due to the fear of facing the consequences of filing a fake case with the police. Further investigation is on, police said.
