The Commissionerate Police on Tuesday ran bulldozers on three shops belonging to Raja, the prime accused in the horrific day-light mob attack in the Smart City on Monday which left two youths seriously injured.

Raja alias Raja Behera ran three shops at the busy Master Canteen area which were reportedly on a disputed land. Following the attack which was the fallout of a dispute over these shops, the police razed them on Tuesday.

As per reports, a group of 10 to 12 armed miscreants brutally hacked two youths at the Master Canteen Square on Monday afternoon, leaving them critically injured.

The assailants, armed with swords, iron rods, and daggers chased the two youths on the main arterial road of the Capital city before and assaulting them with the weapons mercilessly. The duo was part of a five-member group that came under attack by the armed group in broad daylight.

The duo was rescued by police and locals in extremely critical condition and later shifted to a hospital, sources said.

It is pertinent to mention here that, there is a police outpost just about 20 metres away of the crime scene. The GRP, RPF outposts as well as Kharavela Nagar and Capital Police Stations are in the vicinity of Master Canteen area.

The police are yet to trace the other assailants involved in the mob attack that left the denizens of Bhubaneswar question the law and order situation in the State capital.
