A luxury car seized by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday during the raids in connection with the chit fund scam in Odisha has become a matter of discussion. 

The ED had raided six places in Bhubaneswar and two places in Ganjam in connection with the Artha Tatwa chit fund case. In Bhubaneswar, among others, the property of Bikas Swain, an owner of a newspaper, and Sagar Ray, a builder, were raided.   

During the raids, the ED seized a luxury car worth Rs 35 lakh. A contractor from the Berhampur area is said to be the owner of the car. Similarly, Rs 23 lakh in cash and ornaments valued at Rs 24.15 lakh were also seized from another contractor’s house. 

The ED in its official X handle shared information about the raids.

“ED, Bhubaneswar has carried out search operations at various locations in Odisha on 07.03.2024 in the matter of M/s Artha Tatwa (AT) Group of Companies. During the search operations, various incriminating documents, digital devices, Cash worth Rs. 23 Lakh, an Audi Q3 Car worth Rs. 35 lakhs approx., jewellery worth Rs. 24.15 lakh, were recovered and seized,” read the post.
