Girl harassed by group of men at Khandagiri
How safe are tourist destinations on Bhubaneswar's outskirts? Such questions have now cropped up after a girl alleged harassment by a group of men at Khandagiri.
In her X (formerly Twitter) handle, the victim informed that she had recently visited Khandagiri caves with one of her cousins. In her post, the victim further narrated her ordeal. She alleged that they were subjected to verbal abuse and the anti-socials kept on asking their mobile phone numbers.
This was not the end; the miscreants allegedly followed the girls to their home.
“Today, my cousin and sister were harassed by a group of men in Khandagiri. They were followed, subjected to slang & asked for their phone numbers. The men continued to follow them till they reached home,” the victim posted.
The victim has also sought intervention of Odisha Deputy CM Pravati Parida on social media by tagging her with a video of the incident.
Following the incident, OTV took stock of the security measures at Khandagiri by interacting with some tourists from outside. “As I am with a group, I did not feel anything insecure. However, being a girl, I would definitely avoid coming here alone,” alleged the tourist from outside.
