AIIMS doctor arrested for ‘betraying’ girl on the pretext of marriage

A doctor working at the premier All India Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhubaneswar was on Tuesday arrested on the charges of betraying a girl after promising to marry her.

The accused doctor, identified as Jaydeep Dasgupta had come in contact with the victim while she had visited the hospital for her father’s treatment.

As per initial reports, the victim’s father was reportedly admitted in the cardiology department of AIIMS Bhubaneswar where Jaydeep was posted. The victim is said to be a banker. It is alleged that the AIIMS doctor had developed intimacy with the victim while treating her father.

The accused doctor initially collected her mobile phone number on the pretext of sharing inputs regarding the treatment and discharge.

The victim has alleged that both the doctor and the victim developed intimacy and were into a relationship over past two years. However, their relationship turned soar after the victim learnt that the doctor was trying to tie nuptial knot with another girl. Based on the complaint filed by the victim, Mahila police station today arrested the doctor.
