  • A similar letter written on an orange-coloured paper had come to the fore yesterday
  • Clarification in her letter, Bidya Bharati yesterday said she used to write whenever she was stressed

Another letter purportedly written by Bidya Bharati, wife of deceased Paralakhmundi ACF (Assistant Conservator of Forest) Soumya Ranjan Moahapatra, surfaced on Thursday.

The handwritten letter indicates the troubled relationship Soumya Ranjan and Bidya Bharati shared. It also shows how Bidya was hurt and upset with Soumya.

“Oh God! Even my enemies should not get a person like him (Soumya Ranjan). I want divorce at any cost, God. I will be obliged for it my entire life. I will be serving at Puri Srimandir as ‘Dasi’. Just help me in getting a divorce at any cost,” the letter purportedly written by Bidya Bharati read.

A similar letter written on an orange-coloured paper had come to the fore yesterday in which she allegedly wrote that she hated someone and took a wrong decision in her life. She also sought an apology in her write-up.

“I hate You the most in the world. Plz God, Pardon me for all my mistakes…” excerpts of the letter read.

In the second page of the two-page letter, it was written “I Hate this man. Even hate combine my name with his....Hate this World.”

Clarification in her letter, Bidya Bharati yesterday said she used to write whenever she was stressed. She had not written anything pointing at any particular individual and she usually writes whatever strikes her mind when she is upset.

Meanwhile, counsel of Soumya Ranjan’s Father, Partha Sarathi Nayak said that the letters clearly indicate that Bidya hated Soumya and they were not in good terms.

“Police had recovered anklets from Soumya Ranjan’s house during search. This means he was trying to pacify his wife. Besides, the unsigned agreement paper-- wherein Soumya has declared his wife as the sole claimant of his property and salary—would mean that he was trying to resolve their personal issues,” claimed Nayak.

On the other hand, Bidya Bharati’s links with an educational institute in Bolangir and a bachelor’s party she had hosted in that city few months prior to her husband’s death has surfaced.

As per reports, Bidya studied at the Livestock Training Centre, which is  situated at Larkipali in Bolangir. She took admission at the institute on October 16, 2019 and was living in Room No- 1 of the ladies hostel.

She left the hostel after the classes were suspended on March 18, 2020 following the outbreak of Coronavirus and later got married to Soumya on December 1 in the same year. Bidya again visited Bolangir on April 3, 2021 for writing her exams and stayed there till April 13.

As per reports, Bidya arranged party at the hostel after getting permission from the Director of LITC, Hemanta Kumar Pradhan during her stay.

“There were exams from April 5 to April 13. She came on April 3 and went back home on April 13 with her parents. She was staying at the ladies hostel. Two of our students from 2018 batch, including Bidya, got married during the lockdown and they were willing to sponsor lunch for the staff and students. Bidya sponsored the lunch on April 11,” Pradhan informed.
