6-Year-Old Girl Beaten To Death By Father, Step-Mom In Ganjam

A six-year-old girl was allegedly beaten to death by her father and stepmother in Ganjam district of Odisha on Sunday. 

The alleged incident that took place at Tentuliasahi under Digapahandi police limits in the district is suspected to be the fallout of a family dispute.  

As per reports, A Dibakar and his second wife A Mamina killed the minor girl last night and made futile attempts to conceal the murder. However, when some villagers learnt about the crime committed by the couple, they contacted the police. 

The police recovered the body of the girl from the house. There were injury marks all over her body.  

Speaking about the case, Berhampur SP, Pinak Mishra, said, "The statement of the residents of Tentuliasahi has been recorded. The villagers alleged that the father and mother of the child had assaulted her which resulted in her death. Both have been detained and are being questioned. Further investigation is underway."
