Even though the police have intensified search operations, but it is yet to make any headway in the mysterious missing of a 12-year-old minor boy from Nayagarh even after 36 hours of the incident.

Amrit Patra (12), son of one Kalia Patra of Subudhisahi in Kural area under Odagaon police station in Nayagarh had reportedly gone missing while returning from tuition on Thursday evening.

“My son went to tuition at 5 pm and he was supposed to return home by 7.30 pm. When he did not return, we initially doubted he (Amrit) might be at one of his friend’s house. When it got too late at night, we initiated a search, but all our efforts went in vain,” Kalia Patra, Amrit’s father said.

The family suspects the minor has been kidnapped.

Finding no other option, the family members lodged a complaint with the local police. Meanwhile, police have formed two teams including a dog squad, and launched an investigation into the matter.

“My son went missing on Thursday evening. I request all of you to help in finding out my missing son,” said Harapriya Patra, Amrit’s mother.
