Bhubaneswar: A team of Nayapalli Police in Bhubaneswar arrested three hardcore criminals near Biju Patnaik College during lockdown enforcement on Tuesday night.

Two firearms were recovered from their possession.

As per reports, during a routine checking to enforce lockdown in the area, Nayapalli police apprehended two youths on a two-wheeler. However, the duo sped away without halting at the barricade forcing the police team to give them a chase.

After playing hide and seek with the police for some time, the duo finally got trapped in the net. Police recovered two firearms from their possession. While interrogating, the duo named another accomplice whom police nabbed later.

Speaking about the criminals, Nayapalli Police Station inspector-in-charge (IIC) Sharat Sahu said, “When we asked them to stop, they sped away in their bike. However, with an alert police team, we managed to nab them after some time.”

“The criminals were planning for a robbery which the police foiled because of its alertness and swift action,” Sahu added.
