A girl has been accused of duping several jawans and threatening them with false cases for seeking a refund of money. Such an incident has been reported from Krushnaprasad area in Puri district. As per reports, one Santosh Kumar Ransingh met a girl on Facebook and developed a friendship with her.

After some days, the concerned girl sought monetary assistance of Rs 5 lakh on some pretext. Later, Santosh claimed to have paid her Rs 4 lakh. When he sought his money back, the girl allegedly handed over a cheque which subsequently bounced. A complaint in this connection has been filed by Santosh at the rural police station.

“I had met her on Facebook and developed a friendship. Initially, I had given her Rs 2 lakh in April after she told me that her father had met with an accident. Later, I had also given Rs 2 lakh to her in the second installment. When I asked for my money, they handed me a cheque and I found that the account was of a different person and the signature was of a different person,” alleged Santosh.

Not only Santosh, a jawan Samar Nayak has also brought similar allegations against the concerned girl. Samar claimed that he gave Rs 12 lakh to her and was slapped with a false case for seeking a refund of his money.

“I had kept Rs 12 lakh for my sister’s marriage and gave it to her. I had made an agreement after she told me that she was doing some scheme at the bank. I went to the bank and she asked me to put signature on some papers. After the money came into my account, I gave her Rs 2 lakh. Later, I realised that loan was taken against my name,” alleged Samar.

Responding to the allegations, the girl said, “I was in a relationship with Samar. I had lodged a complaint with police after he tried to rape me. When I came to know that he was in another relationship, I started avoiding him. After I lodged a case against him, Samar lodged a case against me alleging that I had taken money from him. Even I had married him before a notary.”
