197 kg ganja seized in Odisha, three arrested 

Police seized 197 kilograms of ganja worth about Rs 15 lakh and arrested three persons for their involvement in the smuggling of the contraband at Mohana in Gajapati district on Tuesday. 

The arrested persons have been identified as Ramkrushna Sahu, his brother-in-law Sushant Sahu of Mohana area and Santosh Jani of Bamapada village under Adaba police limits.

As per reports, the accused persons were smuggling the marijuana in a tractor from the Mohana area to Berhampur. Mohana police were tipped off about the crime. The police swung into action and a team from Mohana Police Station started patrolling at Kamalapur Square. They waylaid a tractor and searched it.

They found the contraband was being concealed in the tractor. The police seized the ganja and arrested the trio. The tractor and a car used in the crime were also seized. 

On March 18, ganja worth over Rs 1.50 crore was seized in the district.
