'Husband's extra-marital affair drove Bolangir woman to kill her 6-month-old baby'

In a strange twist, a woman in Bolangir, who was arrested for allegedly killing her 6-month-old son, confessed that she committed the crime after being upset over the illicit affair of her husband. The accused Meena Nag made such a confession before the police and media.

Earlier, the husband of the accused woman had claimed that his wife was mentally disturbed and was undergoing treatment. However, the statements of the accused have now complicated the entire incident as she alleged domestic violence and illicit affair of her husband behind her move to kill her son.

“I had slit the throat of my son after my husband assaulted me. He is having illicit relationship with other women,” alleged Meena.

Earlier on Friday, Meena allegedly slit the throat of her 6-month-old son and went missing after the incident.

It was the child’s grandmother who found his throat slit when she went to massage the newborn. After raising an alarm, the villagers and other family members rushed to the spot and rushed the baby to Bhima Bhoi Medical where doctors declared him dead.
