The Covid-19 positive tally in Odisha surged to 9,83,523 while the death toll touched 6,236 with the addition of 1,342 fresh cases and 68 fatalities on Thursday, informed the State Health and Family (H&FW) Department.

Of the fresh cases reported today, 775 are from quarantine centres, while the rest 567 are local contact cases, informed the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department.

Khordha district reported the highest 477 cases in the last 24 hours, followed by Cuttack (164), Jagatsinghpur (78), Jajpur (66), Balasore (59) and Puri (55).

The districts which registered below 50 cases are- Kendrapara (43), Bhadrak (40), Angul (30), Nayagarh (28), Keonjhar (23), Dhenkanal (19), Rayagada (18), Sambalpur (18), Koraput (11), Ganjam (9), Bargarh (8), Malkangiri (7), Kandhamal (5), Sonepur (4), Gajapati (4), Balangir (3), Deogarh (3), Jharsuguda (3), Nuapada (3), Kalahandi (3) and Nabarangpur (2). Boudh district reported nil cases in the last 24 hours.

In terms of deaths, 13 fatalities were reported from Khordha district, 12 each from Puri and Sundargarh, 11 from Cuttack, four from Kendrapara and three from Bargarh. Two each deaths reported in Balasore and one each in Bhadrak, Bolangir, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Nayagarh, Nuapada and Sambalpur districts.

 

 

With this, the active cases in the State remained at 13,516 while 9,63,718 patients have recovered, including 1,630 on Wednesday, from the disease so far.
