  • Record 4,02,434 doses of Covid vaccines were administered in Odisha today

Odisha on Monday administered over 4 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccines to people across the State surpassing its previous best of 3.32 lakh doses in a day.

A total of 4,02,434 doses were administered to beneficiaries at 1735 centres across the State. The previous best of 3.32 lakh doses was recorded on June 21. 

Sharing the news on microblogging site Twitter, the State Health and Family Welfare Department wrote, “Odisha reached a new high in COVID19Vaccination today by vaccinating over 4 lakh persons in a single day.” 

“Many congratulations to our Health Team and to the citizens of Odisha who made it possible,” it added.  

According to sources, a total of 199068 people in the age group of 18-44 years have received first dose today while 2279 in the same age group took second dose.

Similarly, 38518 beneficiaries in 45 years and above age group took the first dose of vaccine while 161692 people in the same age group took the second dose today. 

With this, a total of 1,24,91,857 doses have been administered in the State till date, according to state Covid-19 dashboard.

It is noted that Odisha registered 52 Covid-19 related deaths in last 24 hours, the highest single-day toll till date. The State’s death toll has surged to 4,248. 

As many as 2,803 people have tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours taking the total confirmed cases in the State to 9,24,699, said the State I&PR Department.
