The Covid-19 daily count in Odisha continued to remain below 2,000-mark for the fifth day today with the State registering 1,572 positives, including 309 cases in the 0-18 age group, in the last 24 hours, as per the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department.

Out of the new cases, 918 are from quarantine while 654 are local contact cases. The Covid-19 positive tally in the State rose to 12,74,575.

Similarly, with 20 more fatalities due to Covid-19, the death toll in the State rose to 8,838, as per the Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department. 

As per I&PR Department, Khordha, including Bhubaneswar reported a maximum of 233 cases followed by 161 in Cuttack and 113 in Sundargarh.

Koraput (87), Sambalpur (73), Rayagada (74), Kandhamal (62), Balasore (62), Mayurbhanj (60), Jajpur (52), Jagatsinghpur (48), Gajapati (47), keonjhar (43), Bolangir (40), Puri (39), Dhenkanal (35), Nayagarh (35), Kendrapada (30), Bhadrak (27), Ganjam (27), Bargarh (25), Boudh (25), Nuapada (23), Kalahandi (22), Nabarangpur (20), Deogarh (20), Jharsuguda (13), Sonepur (12), Angul (9), Malkangiri (6) and State Pool (49).

In terms of fatalities, four deaths were reported from Jajpur, three from Khordha, Balasore and Kendrapara, two from Mayurbhanj and one each from Bhadrak, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar and Nabarangpur, added the H&FW Department.

A total of 2,82,93,841 samples, including 68,239 in the past 24 hours, have been tested in the State so far. The daily Test Positivity Rate (TPR) now stands at 2.30 per cent.
