Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported 46 fatalities due to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours taking the virus toll to 4,109 even as 3,222 people tested positive for the virus during the period pushing the cumulative positive tally to 91,6109 in the State.

Taking to Twitter, the Health and Family Welfare Department said, "Regret to inform the demise of forty-six COVID positive patients while under treatment in hospitals."

Of the 46 fatalities, nine were reported from Khordha, four each from Puri, Sundergarh and Nayagarh and three each from Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Kendrapara, Sambalpur.

One patient succumbed to the virus each in Angul, Balasore, Bargarh, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda and Kalahandi district.

Similarly, Keonjhar, Koraput, Mayurbhanj and Sonepur also recorded one fatality each during the last 24 hours.

Cuttack district recorded the highest number of fresh cases at 619, followed by Khordha (422) and Jagatsinghpur (212).
Among other districts which recorded the triple digit figure are Balasore (208), Bhadrak (141), Jajpur (190), Kendrapara (179), Mayurbhanj (195), Nayagarh(114) and Puri (188).

Only three districts which registered single digit Covid daily cases are Deogarh (7), Gajapati (9) and Jharsuguda (9).

As many as 3,457 patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative recovery tally to 88,0997 in the State. The active cases in the State currently stand at 30,950.
