Bhubaneswar: Like the silver lining in a dark cloud, Bhubaneswar on Saturday registered a steep rise in the recoveries of Covid-19 patients amid steady surge in the number of positive cases.

As per the data released by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), as many as 1019 patients were declared free from Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours which is the highest single day recovery this year.

However, steady rise in the number of daily Covid-19 positive cases in the capital city continued unabated with 1034 fresh cases detected from various parts of the city in the last 24 hours.

With the new cases, the active caseload in the city has now climbed up to 10,075. Out of the new cases, 154 persons are in quarantine while the rest 880 are local contact cases.

 

The most, 54 cases each have been reported from Nayapalli and Patia area followed by Old Town (37). As many as 27 fresh cases have been detected from Rasulgarh area.

Similarly, 23 cases were reported each from Unit-8, Unit-9 and Sailashree Vihar areas.

Sundarpada registered 20 cases while Niladri Vihar witnessed 19 cases.

So far, 52,530 Covid-19 positive cases have been detected in the city out of which 42,155 have recovered, 279 have succumbed. As many as 10,075 Covid-19 patients are under treatment at present.
