Bhubaneswar: With a single-day spike of 1470 Covid-19 cases, Odisha’s virus tally went up to 2,90,116 on Saturday. Of the fresh cases, 853 patients are from quarantine, while 617 are local contact cases, informed State I&PR department. The death toll in the State has climbed to 1320 with 12 more fatalities in the last 24 hours.

As many as 170 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected from Khordha district, followed by Cuttack (126), Sundargarh (112), Angul (76), Jagatsinghpur (76), and Mayurbhanj (50).

State Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) department has shared the details of the 12 patients who succumbed while under treatment at hospitals.

  • 40-year-old female of Keonjhar district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
  • 55-year-old male of Keonjhar district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
  • 50-year-old male of Jharsuguda district.
  • 72-year-old female of Puri district who was also suffering from Carcinoma Ovary.
  • 43-year-old female of Khurda district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Chronic Kidney Disease.
  • 34-year-old male of Ganjam district.
  • 48-year-old male of Nuapada district.
  • 67-year-old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
  • 65-year-old male of Bhubaneswar.
  • 70-year-old male of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
  • 63-year-old male of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
  • 65-year-old male of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension, Renal cell Carcinoma, Hypothyroidism.

So far, 273838 patients in Odisha have recovered from the virus, while active case count is 14905.
