Speaking at the meeting of National Integration Council here, Mr. Hooda said economic growth is “a great liberator and frees the mind from smaller concerns and petty thinking”.
He called for channelising the youth and promoting communal harmony among them and said education helps inculcate a positive outlook and keeps youth away from “communal misadventures”.
“Radicalisation of youth in the name of religion and caste is the favoured method of subversive elements who seek to arouse youth’s passion for anti-state activities,” he said.
“Communalism arises from insecurity of a few who seek to manipulate the emotions of many. It narrows our identity and closes opportunities for progress. We need to isolate communal elements and protect the larger core of our society by fortifying faith in unity in diversity, which is our strength.”
