In the competitive world of business, only the paranoids will survive, said Harit Nagpal, MD and CEO of Tata Play virtually during the 12th edition of Odisha Television Limited’s annual convention, ‘Foresight 2022’ on Friday.
Shedding light on cut-throat competition in the business world, Nagpal harped on differentiation, useful and inspiring innovation and easy and simple model as key factors for looking ahead.
“The DTH market has been a commodity like coal. We in Tata Sky put much effort into the theory of differentiating the commoditised market,” said Nagpal during the discussion on topic ‘Differentiating In A Commoditised Market’.
“Introducing differentiation in DTH services, Tata Sky has introduced two new parameters- useful and inspiring innovation and an easy, simple citizen-centric model. Unless there is the freedom to have free thinking, growth is not possible,” he said.
Nagpal also emphasised on team collaboration, experiment and taking responsibility as the key factors in the growth of the company.
“The mantra of successful corporate culture is ‘reduce the layers and barriers’ in a company. As we moved on from TV distributor to content distributor, this being the reason behind metamorphosis of Tata Sky to Tata Play,” he added.
