With the launch of the latest iteration of RX100, Yamaha aims to cater to the evolving preferences of the current generation while staying true to the essence of the beloved classic.
In line with modern standards, Yamaha has undertaken a comprehensive overhaul of the RX100 to meet the stringent emission requirements of BS6 Phase 2. The focal point of this transformation lies in the motorcycle's engine, which now boasts a robust 225.9cc BS6 engine capable of generating an impressive power output of 20.1 bhp and a torque of 19.93 Nm, adds the report.
While Yamaha has kept specific pricing details under wraps, industry insiders speculate a competitive range estimated between Rs1.25 lakh to Rs1.5 lakh. This strategic pricing approach aims to strike a balance between affordability and the premium experience offered by the redesigned RX100.
Introduced in 1985, RX100 has a huge cult following that continues to grow even after the company stopped manufacturing the motorcycle.
The legendary RX-100 was manufactured by Yamaha till 1996 before the company had to pull to plug on the icon owing to the stringent emission norms enforced by the government, which saw the discontinuation of the sale for all two-stroke motorcycles in the country.
