Ayodhya Ram Temple Inauguration: Odisha govt declares half-day holiday on January 22

With the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya scheduled on January 22, the Odisha government declared a half-day holiday for all state government offices.

The Revenue and Disaster Management Department issued a notification to this effect on Thursday.

Additional secretary of the government Diganta Routray issued the notification stating, "In view of the celebration of the Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya, the Government of Odisha has been pleased to declare that the State Government offices as well as the Revenue and Magisterial Courts (Executive) will remain closed for half day till 2.30 pm on 22.01.2024 on (Monday)."

This move of the government came after some parties including the Bharatiya Janata Party and cultural outfits demanded a holiday on January 22.
