Rourkela: A 50-year-old woman was attacked by two persons on the suspicion of practising witchcraft at Kapilas village under Biramitrapur police station area, the police said on Saturday.
Krushna Karketta (45) and his nephew Samir Karketta (20) had attacked Lalu Khaaita at their village on Friday and left her critically injured.
The villagers got the woman admitted to a local hospital. During investigation it was found that the two suspected that Krushna`s son was ill for a long time due to black magic by the woman.
Both the accused were arrested produced before a court on Saturday on the charge of attempt to murder. They were remanded to jail custody.
