The no-confidence motion against the BJD chairperson was conducted by Pratap Pritimaya, BDO, Athamalik, the designated officer appointed by Collector, Angul to oversee the proceedings of the motion. The NAC had 11 councilors of whom eight members were against the chairperson who had moved the no-confidence motion by a petition to the collector, Angul.
When the chairperson and her husband, both from BJD, found the eight councilors in the voting hall, all of a sudden they attacked three of them in presence of police and the executive magistrate. The injured councilors were admitted to the local hospital and then shifted to the district headquarters hospital as their condition became serious. The outcome of the no confidence motion has not yet been declared officially.
