A tracker dog of the Indian Army named Jaari is now earning lot of praise and love on social media after its remarkable accomplishment in helping the security forces bust a huge anti-national camp and locate huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosives hidden in Assam's Panbari Reserve Forest.
According to an official release, Jaari led a joint search operation carried out by Chirang Police led by Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) with 5th Garhwal Rifles of Indian Army and 54 Batallion Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in the general area of Gabrukhunda inside Panbari Reserve Forest to locate the cache of arms hidden by insurgents of the National Democratic Front of Boroland.
Based on the lead given by source and led by Army tracker dog, digging was conducted at multiple places between 5 pm to 5:30 am on September 24. Subsequentlty huge cache of arms and ammunition were recovered. During the search, eight packets containing items packed in plastic were located. Unpacking them revealed 20 rifles, 56 7.64 AK series ammunition, 20 snipers, 83 cartridges, four pistol magazines, 17 kg explosive and a radio set with two additional batteries, sources said.
The Eastern Command of the Indian Army paid a Twitter tribute to Jaari on Wednesday sharing pictures of the tracker dog and the arms that it helped recover. Twitterati spent no time in showering praises on Jaari.
