As many as two persons were killed and four injured in two separate road accidents in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar on late Tuesday night.

According to reports, the driver of a pickup van lost his balance and the vehicle hit a stationary trailer at Manguli Square near Choudwar.

Following the accident two persons from Balasore who were travelling in the vehicle were killed on the spot. Another person sustained critical injuries. He has been admitted to a nearby hospital. However, the driver escaped unhurt.

In another such incident, as many as three staff of a PCR van sustained injuries when a truck hit the vehicle near Saheed Nagar police station over bridge. The injured have been admitted into the nearby hospital. The truckdriver is on the run.

Saheed Nagar police reached the spot immediately and seized the truck. An investigation into the incident is underway.

Earlier last week, a couple was killed while three others sustained critical injuries after the car they were travelling in collided with a roadside tree at Chari Chhak under Purunacuttack police limits in Boudh district.
