The seized items included 170 metres of fuse wire, 161 igniter sets, three live bullets of 8 mm, Naxal rubber stamps, Naxal flags, and several Maoist documents. The operation is still continuing in the Jiriobera forest and nearby villages.

Maoist Presence Suspected In The Region

As per reports, the quantity of seized arms and explosives suggests that Maoists had been operating in the region for a considerable period.

Maoist activities have been prevalent in the border areas of Jharkhand, including Giridih, where they established a stronghold over the years.

However, intensified combing operations in recent times have disrupted their bases significantly. Several Maoists, including those with high bounties, have surrendered, and many cadre-level operatives have been neutralised during encounters, weakening their structure further.
