At airports in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and several other cities, passengers were visibly agitated over the lack of clarity regarding the restoration of normal services. Many said they received no firm updates from IndiGo counters despite repeated inquiries. Several heated exchanges between fliers and staff were captured on video, which have since circulated widely on social media.

DGCA Sets Up Probe Committee

In response to the continuing disruptions, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has constituted a four-member committee to review the situation and investigate the chain of events that led to the widespread operational breakdown. The committee has been tasked with examining the underlying causes and submitting its findings within 15 days. Officials described the prolonged irregularities as a “severe nationwide operational crisis.”

Government Assures Swift Restoration

Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu confirmed that a high-level inquiry has been initiated to assess the issues in detail. He assured the public that normal operations are expected to resume within the next three days.

“The network that is being created has to have a smooth flow,” the minister said, adding that, “Plans are underway for both short-term and long-term solutions. The immediate priority is restoring normalcy, while the long-term plan includes stakeholder consultations, proper implementation of FTL guidelines, and ensuring a balanced operational framework.”
