New Delhi: The Supreme Court has deprecated the practice of high courts frequently passing strictures against subordinate judges and said it not only affected image of the judicial officers but also eroded public confidence in the administration of justice.

"Further, the trend seems to be persistent like an incurable cancerous cell which explodes out at the slightest imbalance," a bench of justices B S Chauhan and Dipak Misra said in a judgement.
