Bhubaneswar: Good news again for the students awaiting a job in the railway sector, as the South Eastern Railways and the South East Central Railway division have invited applications to fill up a huge number of vacancies for railway recruitment 2017-18. Interested and eligible candidates should apply online soon.
The details of each of the railway boards is given below.
SOUTH EAST RAILWAY RECRUITMENT:
South Eastern Railway has published a notification for the recruitment of 1785 Apprentice vacancies for the year 2017-18 for various trades. Candidates must submit their online application through the prescribed before January 2, 2018 for the recruitment.
Eligibility criteria:
Age Limit: Aspirants' age should be between 15 and 24 years as on January 1, 2018. However, the upper age limit is relaxable for up to 5 years in case of SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC and 10 years for physically handicapped candidates.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed 10th Class from a recognized Board with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (excluding additional subjects) and possess an ITI Pass certificate (in the trade in which Apprenticeship is to be done) granted by the NCVT. Aspirants should satisfy the minimum standard of physical fitness as mentioned in the notification.
Application Fees:
Candidates will have to pay Rs 100 as application fee to apply for the examination through online mode from their account/debit card/credit card. However the SC/ST/PWD/Women candidates are exempted from payment of fees.

Selection Process:
Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit list which will be prepared on the basis of percentage of marks in 10th and ITI marks in the trade and later a medical examination will be conducted.
Age Limit: The candidates should be between 15-24 years of age as on November 25, 2017. However, the upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years in case of SC/ST candidates, 3 years in case of OBC candidates and 10 years for PWD/Ex-servicemen.
Educational Qualification:
The candidate must have passed 10th class examination or its equivalent (under 10+2 examination system) with minimum 50 per cent marks, in aggregate, from recognized Board and also possess National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training or Provisional Certificate issued by National Council for Vocational Training/State Council for Vocational Training.
